A second stop of the Midwest "Pickup Tour” will be in Bloomington.
Local union representatives, call center and manufacturing workers and others will gather Wednesday to discuss efforts to hold President Trump accountable on his promises to bring back jobs.
The event starts at 10 a.m. and will be at the former Bloomington GE plant.
The “Midwest Pickup Tour is a grassroots campaign focused on holding Trump accountable to American workers with support of workers from Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The tour kicked off in Indianapolis on Monday with a rally headlined by Senator Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, and former United Steel Workers Local 1999 President Chuck Jones. The rally was sponsored by Good Jobs Nation and Our Revolution Indy.
At the Bloomington stop, speakers expected include: Jones, Indiana’s 9th District Congressional candidate Liz Watson, Good Jobs Nation Director Joseph Geevarghese, Communications Workers of America representative Jane Phillips, Justin Hawkins, president of Communication Workers of America Local 4818, Robert Deppert, Jobs with Justice, Jackie Yenna, White River Southern Indiana Regional Labor Council, former Bloomington GE workers Ray Cooke, Glenn Collins and Carven Thomas, and Bloomington call center workers.
